FAQ
The practical stuff, answered. A few things you might want to know before reaching out or working with SideDesk.
Working With SideDesk
Common questions about getting started, working together, and what to expect.
We’ll personally review what you send to understand your business, what you need, and whether SideDesk looks like a good fit.
If it does, we’ll invite you to a discovery call to talk things through. Once we’re aligned on the work, scope, and expectations, we’ll get the practical pieces in place and begin onboarding.
No. You can tell us what’s going on, what’s sitting on your plate, or where you think you need help. You don’t need to have the scope figured out before reaching out. We can work through that together.
We provide a private SideDesk Discord space for each client. It becomes the main place for communication, updates, files, questions, and day-to-day coordination. Only you, the SideDesk team, and anyone you choose to include will have access to your space.
That keeps everything in one place and gives the team the context they need without making you repeat yourself across different channels.
If something genuinely needs a call, we’ll schedule one. Otherwise, we keep communication clear and practical inside your private workspace.
We’ll get the practical pieces in place before work begins. That may include communication, expectations, timelines, access, files, existing processes, and anything else we need to start properly.
You don’t need to prepare a perfect handoff first.

Yes, for recurring partnerships.
Work Alongside Your Business and Own a Focused Part of the Work both have a 3-month minimum commitment.
One-off work does not require an ongoing commitment.
One-off work starts at $25/hour, with a 3-hour minimum.
We’ll agree on the scope before work begins so you know what we’re taking on.
If you need an accelerated turnaround, a rush fee may apply depending on the deadline, complexity, and current availability. Any rush fee will be confirmed with you before work starts.
We’ll talk about it before doing additional work. If the change affects the time, cost, priorities, or original scope, we’ll let you know and agree on how to move forward.
No surprise additions.
The Work
Questions about the kind of work we handle, tools, what we need from you, and timelines.
Most of our work falls into three areas:
Keep Things Running
Ongoing operations, coordination, administrative support, follow-through, and day-to-day execution.
Build Better Systems
Processes, workflows, SOPs, documentation, templates, organization, and simple automation.
Bring Ideas to Life
Websites, landing pages, forms, presentations, documents, digital assets, projects, and other work that needs to be built or finished.
These categories help explain the work, but they are not hard limits.
Usually, yes.
We prefer working with what already makes sense for your business instead of introducing new tools unnecessarily. If you use something unfamiliar to us, we’ll assess it properly and tell you what we can responsibly take on. We won’t pretend to know something we don’t.
Usually, we need context, access to the relevant information or tools, any existing files or processes that relate to the work, and a clear point of contact when we need input.
We may need decisions or information that only you can provide, but we’ll make it clear when we do.
It depends on the scope, complexity, dependencies, available information, and current capacity.
For ongoing work, we’ll establish a working rhythm. For projects or one-off work, we’ll clarify expected timing before we begin whenever possible.
Practical Details
Questions about access, confidentiality, and what happens when something falls outside our capabilities.
We only ask for access that’s relevant to the work we’ve agreed to handle. Business information, files, and account access are treated carefully and used for the work they were provided for. Where specific confidentiality terms apply to an engagement, they’ll be covered in the agreement.
We’ll tell you.
If something sits outside what we can responsibly handle, we won’t pretend otherwise. Where it makes sense, we may still be able to help with the surrounding coordination, preparation, organization, or execution.
